Whenever I go out, I take a small point-and-shoot camera out with me. Many of my photos I put on my blog http://www.thebeautifulhomecomapny/wp. Sometimes I take my DSLR Nikon D7000. Santa bought me a macro lens for Christmas and I am loving being able to get closer to my subject. I am inspired by colour and texture everywhere and I particularly find interesting the ‘Nature in the City’ theme. Tokyo has pockets of nature and greenery everywhere and often in the most unexpected places. I enjoy capturing this and looking back at some of my photos, I can see that some of my shots could possibly be developed into designs for textiles!
Reading through the ‘Working with a camera’ exercise in the course notes, I decided to look through some recent photos I took and put them in albums in each of the suggested categories: lines; textures; light and shade; reflections; looking up; looking down; looking through; looking into the distance; contrasts; grouping of objects.
Here are some of my favourites, which I intend to alter with editing programs and then print out on 6″ by 4″ photo paper as resource material.
