Part One Introducing monoprints Research Point

For the first research point, we were asked to research learning logs by other OCA printmaking students. I googled students and was interested to see the variety of work and different ways the students have interpreted the exercises. Many students seem to struggle initially with the printing medium and amounts, dilution of the inks or paints.   It was interesting that one student had commented a little on her reluctance to have a public blog as she had seen some other students’ work which looked remarkably like her own. She concluded that it was probably coincidence and likely to happen when we are all following the same course but I am keen to get going myself and don’t really want to be influenced by other students so am going to get on with the course, referring to other blogs every so often.

Looking at the blogs did make me think more about how best to organise my own so it was a helpful exercise.
